Chestnut Hill Colonial Revival

Lifelong Newton residents of this Chestnut Hill property had a fire on the back deck of their house and subsequently, rebuilt two thirds of the house.  They used the opportunity to have the Dutch gambrel farmhouse redesigned into a Colonial Revival style.  The renovation involved replacing the entire main body of the house, revising the roof proportions and window layout, as well as adding a front entry portico. The intention was to preserve the footprint of the house as much as possible while designing a more historically appropriate home that is reflective of the neighborhood's many period homes.
