Ski House

One of the more recognizable homes in Stowe, Vermont was custom designed to accommodate a large and extended family’s year-round dream destination. Tucked away amidst the woodlands surrounding a major ski area, this site required significant masonry to support the clever weather protected access for SUV’s, ski apparatus and snow mobiles alike. The rooves of which double as scenic overviews, outdoor dining and entertainment spaces, firepits and access to trails. Massive timberwork frames the entry with a 30 foot tall stone fireplace warming multiple levels. The tiered landings lead off to various “hide-out” spaces throughout the house, so family members of all ages can enjoy quiet sleeping and play spaces as well as feeling a part of all the family’s going- on. Almost tree house-like, the interiors are far from common floorplans yet can accommodate close to thirty people comfortably for memorable get-aways.
